Hello, I’m Elisha

I have devoted my life’s work to supporting survivors of trauma, mental health challenges, and the many difficult complexities of life.

I never cease to be amazed by the transformations I witness as my clients regain confidence and control of their lives, and restore a sense of inner peace that’s often been missing or just out of reach for quite some time.

Some days I meet people during what is the most difficult time in their life, and I am able to offer them the calm, safe space they need.

And sometimes people come to me with a problem they have been dealing with for a really long time.

I have an oddly good memory for my first meetings with people, even if they occurred quite some time ago. Sometimes, I'll be in a session with someone who I met at one of these most difficult times in their life, and a memory of our first meeting will replay in my mind.

This tends to happen most often when I can see something good has since happened for them, they have made progress with their recovery and life goals, or they are experiencing joy and connection with others. It is in these moments, I am reminded how grateful I am that my work allows me to witness this transformation.

I was first introduced to social work as a potential career when I was 16 and completed a career aptitude test at school. I didn’t give much thought to the suggestion at the time, but later on I began to consider society and relationships in much more complex ways. I have always liked to offer understanding to people and have felt a sense of connection and empathy for people who have experienced difficulties and challenges in their life.

I went on to work for more than 10 years in the public and not-for-profit sectors providing counselling and psychotherapy to people of all ages and circumstances, before opening my own private practice in 2017.

Since then, I have been working primarily with children, adolescents, parents and families, providing clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions for trauma and mental health related challenges. I also work with survivors of family violence and sexual assault, victims of crime, and people employed in the military and emergency services experiencing post-traumatic stress.

The rise of telehealth has enabled me to expand my services to people Australia-wide, allowing me to support an even more diverse range of clients.
